Dear New York, I Love You

Giving Fund

I live in Manhattan, and I’m a little in love with it…well more like a whole lot. The city is my constant companion, my inspiration, the place that made me a writer. Dear New York, I Love You, a book that grew out of walking these streets and falling for them over and over. On rainy days, I do something silly and wonderful: I go outside and jump in puddles. It’s my way of saying hello to the city I adore. And honestly? It always says hello back.

Funding Context Statement:

The Dear New York I Love You Giving Fund was established by Ria Sim, author of Dear New York I Love You, as a way to give back to New York City communities through charitable giving.

The fund is a donor-advised fund (DAF) administered by Fidelity Charitable. All contributions to the fund come exclusively from the author through:

  1. Book royalties received from the sale of the book.
  2. Personal contributions made by the author.

The fund does not accept money from readers, fans, or any third party. This website is not a fundraising platform.

As an emerging author, royalty income has been modest. The first royalty payment was received approximately one year after publication. To sustain meaningful giving, the author supplements the fund with personal funds when royalty income alone is insufficient.

The author is committed to growing the fund as book sales increase over time and to maintaining full transparency about all grants recommended.
